Application Process

Undergraduate applications for Bachelor’s degree courses are submitted through the Universities Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), which operates as a centralized application system. Students can apply to a maximum of 5 institutions/courses.

UCAS sets different deadlines for various courses:

For medicine, dentistry, and veterinary courses, as well as all courses at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, the deadline is 15 October.

For all other courses, except certain art and design programs with a 24 March deadline, the deadline is 15 January.

International students have until 30 June as the final deadline, after which all applications go into Clearing.

On the other hand, postgraduate applications lack a single centralized system. Students must apply individually to each institution. Deadlines vary according to the course and institution. The tuition fees for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs typically range from GBP 4,000 to 18,000. Laboratory-based courses usually have higher tuition fees compared to classroom-based courses. Programs in fields like Medicine and Dentistry often come with significantly higher tuition costs.

 

Living Costs:

Living expenses in the UK vary depending on the location. Big cities like London have higher living costs, while smaller towns and cities generally offer lower living expenses. The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has set living cost guidelines for student visa purposes as follows:

GBP 1,200 per month for Central London

GBP 1,000 for outer London and the rest of the UK
